I wrote a poem-legend. I was to tell it to kids. It's about a beautiful place in the mountains. God made it so.
Pinoy Green Destinations
Many families would like to enjoy an outdoors weekend, but end up just going to the mall or some familiar resort. I think I can name some reasons why nature-encounter experiences for families are rare.
As I do here in Manila, whenever I have my camera in hand, I take photos of signs of good green change in how we Filipinos live. They may be little acts, small steps to some, but they amount to significance. These small acts push us all to the Green Tipping Point. Much has already been written about the overdevelopment in Boracay and the harm it may cause to the island's natural environment. I was in vacation, I chose to look at the brighter signs.

WORD FROM THE SPONSOR
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions - it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.
One of Philippine's best vegetarian restaurant, as adjudged by the PeTA, Prana at the Mandala Spa Boracay, just had to be visited. 3 hours before leaving Boracay, I and my wife decided to have an early lunch, and have a peek of what Mandala has to offer. Maybe, we'll take the more relaxed and quiet Boracay vacation next year, and this could be the place to have it.

MOPped lately? M.O.P. (Manila Ocean Park) is just too accessible not to revisit. We came back with Faith's aunts and uncles, who are about her age. You know what? No matter how many times you see the sights (and these are just samplers of the real ocean deep), you'll never fail to be awed by the beauty of it all --- God's creation.
Zoos have been subject of debate among nature lovers.
On one side, there are those who say that zoos are centers for cruelty to animals. Should we, for the sake of our entertainment, take the animals away from their home environments and cage them, limiting their freedoms, subjecting them to undue stresses. Read what PeTA has to say.
On the other side, there are those who contend that zoos are beyond entertainment. Zoos help in: 1) the education about wildlife and its conservation, 2) care and propagation of displaced and endangered wild animals, and 3) research which relates to the first two.
To show children how beautiful the ocean is on the underneath, and to teach them about the richness of life in the often inaccessible depths, take them scuba diving. What? It would be great if that were possible; but if not, the next best thing to scuba diving would be to take the children to Manila Ocean Park.
