There is a "green" blogsite that's well conceived, well designed, well written, and a veritable well of everything Organic in the Philippines. The organic mom blogger, responsible for the site, Jhoey Hernandez, was a classmate in a special internet marketing course at AIM. Our mentor, Anton Diaz, of OurAwesome Planet fame, should be very proud at the output of his pupils. The sowing of seeds and the tending of the learning garden, are now producing crops, abundant and lush, much ready for a harvest.
And speaking of harvests, Jhoey has organized the first and, hopefully, a continuing series of harvest day weekends. It's scheduled on Mother's Day, May 9, a Sunday. Consider it a gift for your mom or wife or daughter or self. Fill your baskets with only organically-grown crops. No toxic fertilizers. No harmful pesticides. Healthy. Safe. Beneficial.
I'll direct you to Jhoey's organic living site, PinoyOrganics to learn more about the event. She has a gallery of convincing and inviting photos of the Herbana Farms, site of the harvest.
Entrance fee is P350 per person. As the poster above says, there'd be guided farm tours, organic cooking demos, mini gardening workshops, and the U-Pic-4-Pay harvesting.
It should be a fun, back to nature, family-bonding, learning filled weekend.
I hope to see you there. Spread the word. Spread this link: http://www.pinoyorganics.com/2010/04/07/herbana-farms/

WORD FROM THE SPONSOR
He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff - they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.
