Island Sweep Boracay by Nat Geo and Friends

This is the 2nd invitation I received to go to Boracay this week. It's summer. The timing and the venue should be both perfect. The reasons for the invitations are perfect as well; however, there are also some reasons where I should be in Manila during those event days. Those reasons then are "perfecter" or "more perfect," which are neither right. I, however, can make up for not going by inviting you to go, and have you enjoy Boracay summer in my stead.

Read through the sent invitation.

We  would like to invite you to take part in the NatGeo Boracay Island Sweep on 28 March 2010.

NatGeo Island Sweep is an environmental and awareness campaign that aims to educate, engage, and empower locals and tourists to clean and preserve the island. The campaign also seeks to inform everyone of the importance and benefits of environmental action in the community.

The event will feature an underwater clean-up and a sweep of the island’s shoreline. With the help of coordinators from the Ocean Conservancy: International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) and World Wildlife Foundation,  data will be collected from the clean up and submitted to the ICC.

Another highlight of the NatGeo Island Sweep is a photo exhibit at Summerplace Bar beachfront where the disastrous  impacts of trash and debris to our marine life and ecosystem will be showcased.

In line with our awareness drive, we would like to ask your support by allowing us to display our campaign materials such as flyers, posters, and tent cards in your premises.  We would also like to invite you and your friends to join our growing number of volunteers to participate in the 4 p.m.. clean-up on the abovementioned date.

You may express your support and participation in this pioneering effort by sending us an email at ngcboracayislandsweep@gmail.comor sms/call our Island Coordinator, Junthir Flores  at +639152884371 . Our line is open to you 24/7.

We look forward to your favorable response.

Thank you.
