You read it right. They do go together; with Messy being Messy Bessy, the social entrepreneurial venture responsible for the safe, biodegradable, toxic-free, all natural-ingredient-based line of household cleaning products. Messy Bessy could very well be my wife’s new best friend. She first met, err or saw the products in Echostore. As most husbands would attest, wives are the more precocious shopper. They take time --- lots of it, in fact --- to scrutinize the merchandise inside and outside. They read the labels through, it seems, like men would the dailies’ comic strips: with fond fascination and much interest, curiously.
It was a friendship that grew and blossomed. Messy Bessy proved reliable, and has been a pleasant cleaning companion, she says. Sweet natural aromas fill our rooms, and we enjoy it without fear of harmful chemicals getting into our bodies or being washed down to our now precarious mother earth.
Messy Bessy is proudly Pinay, by the way. Ms. Krie Reyes Lopez, with her siblings, Troy Bernardo and Candy Reyes, the story is told, was really looking for a way to reach out to people who are less privileged. Their goal, primarily, is to do so without resorting to dole-outs---one time giving, then leaving. They want a self-sustainable undertaking, with beneficiaries doing their share, and in the process rebuilding their lives.
I wish my wife could have more friends like Messy Bessy; and my daughter, I wish, could have more role models like Messy Bessy.
